ANGOL BEMUTATKOZÓ ANYAG

As in humans, prevention will always be better than cure in animals too however much advancement is made in medicine. Our pets age faster than humans. A regular health check might be said to be more important for our animals than us due to the speed of aging, and our shortness of common language.

It is said that 70 % of all diseases can be diagnosed by careful physical examination consisting of history taking, visual inspection, palpation, auscultation, olfactory examination, and percussion. These physical examination results guide the subsequent clinical testing, leading us to the correct diagnosis.

A variety of full health check plans that include physical examinations and clinical testing are available to match for each of our patient’s health conditions.

If your pet suffers an accident or in need of immediate veterinary care, we are at your help and take them as priority.

Laboratory diagnostics

We are working with qualified laboratories (in the country and abroad) with trustable results at short notice, but we have an in-house emergency lab for same-day results, so we can help determine or rule out specific conditions affecting your pet.

  • hematology and biochemistry panels

  • urine pH, specific gravity and sediment examination

  • ear and skin cytology

  • hormone levels (Progesterone, T4, TSH)

Surgery services

General dentistry:

Our veterinary teams provide professional dental cleanings to support oral health, perform dental extractions and oral surgery.

Soft tissue surgeries:

  • Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) Procedures: ear polyps, tumors,

  • TECA (This surgery involves the complete removal of the ear canal and tympanic bulla (middle ear), leaving only the ear flap (pinna) remaining. )

  • BOAS for brachycephalic dogs (In this procedure the soft palate is decreased in thickness by up to 80% and then folded back on itself. It is then stitched to create a shorter, much thinner soft palate that significantly opens the airways and allows the dog to breathe more normally.)

  • Eyelid tumors, entropium

  • Skin fold plastic surgery of the head

  • Exploratory surgery

  • Emergency surgery

  • Biopsy - skin, organs, tumors

Orthopedic Surgery

  • Surgical correction of simple and complex bone fractures

  • Plate osteosynthesis for fracture stabilization

  • Surgical correction of joint abnormalities, tendon injuries

  • Patella luxation surgery

  • TPLO (TPLO is the abbreviation for tibial plateau leveling osteotomy. This a surgical procedure used to treat cranial (or anterior) cruciate ligament rupture in the knee joints of dogs)

Obstetrics

  • Ultrasound exam of pregnant animals (mostly cats and dogs)

  • Clinical management of cases of dystocia, cesarean section: Dystocia, the difficulty in passing the fetus through the pelvic canal, is a common small animal emergency.

Spaying and neutering (dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, rodents):

Spaying and neutering can help control the population of unwanted shelter animals and prevent some serious illnesses, also minimize some behavioral issues.

Diagnostics imaging

We use a variety of methods to help us diagnose and treat pet illnesses, and to help figure out the cause of any underlying injury.

CT scanning is used alongside our other imaging services, X-ray and Ultrasound and is paramount when diagnosing more complex conditions and advanced orthopedic injuries. A CT scan can help support with pre and post-surgery care for conditions including:

  • Bone injuries and advanced fractures, including spinal conditions

  • Orthopedic injuries (Cruciate disease, patella luxation, hip dysplasia and total hip replacement)

  • Soft tissue (Tumors, chest, nasal and abdomen) metastasis screening.

Radiography

Our modern digital radiography enables us to examine your pet’s body systems like their cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal, and reproductive systems. Our digital x-ray machines help us see below the surface of your pet’s gum line and evaluate each tooth so we can see tooth root concerns, perform extractions, and send images to specialists if appropriate.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is an imaging test that uses sound waves to create a picture (also known as a sonogram) of organs, tissues, and other structures inside the body. Unlike x-rays, ultrasounds don't use any radiation.

Endoscopy

Endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure for dogs and cats to help diagnose various conditions:

  • gastrointestinal tract

  • upper and lower respiratory tract

  • ear canal

Grooming

Regular check-ups and care is important for healthy skin and hair coat. We will select the most suitable shampoo and medicated bathing if needed. Haircuts according to your desired cut style, grooming and medicated bathing is available by our proficient groomer.

If your pet is ferocious during grooming, sedation is available, provided and supervised by our veterinarians after examination and evaluation of the risks. They might advise further examinations e.g. laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging to ensure the safety of your pet’s sedation.

CT kifejtve almenüben:

A CT (computed tomography ) scanner provides more detailed looks at a dog and offers more insight than an x-ray. A CT scan combines a series of X-ray images taken from different angles around the pet’s body and uses computer processing to create cross-sectional images (slices) of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues inside. CT scan images provide more-detailed information than plain X-rays do.  A CT scan can be used to visualize nearly all parts of the body and is used to diagnose disease or injury as well as to plan medical or surgical treatment.  The pictures are taken from different angles and are used to create 3-dimensional (3-D) views of tissues and organs.

CT scans can be done with or without contrast. Contrast refers to a substance injected into an IV line that causes the particular organ or tissue under study to be seen more clearly.

CT scan may be conducted on the head, especially the nasal cavity. The evaluation of nasal disease in dogs and cats with chronic nasal discharge is the most common reason we make a CT scan. A CT scan may also be conducted on an animal’s lungs. This helps us identify or rule out metastasis (or spreading) of various cancers that are known to be present elsewhere in the body. To this end, CT scans are vital tools for understanding the extent of canine and feline cancers and planning for treatment.

A computed tomography examination is the most advanced method for diagnosing spinal diseases and disorders in dogs and cats.

A CT scan for pets is nearly identical to those done in humans. The equipment, including the machine, is mostly the same, and the only difference in procedure is that most pets require anesthetization in order to keep them completely still throughout the procedure.

Endoszkóp kifejtett almenüben:

Endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure for dogs and cats to help diagnose gastrointestinal conditions eg. chronic inflammation, abnormal cells, tumors. It allows us to take samples for further laboratory examinations.

When a pet is experiencing various symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea and weight loss, an endoscopy procedure may be recommended by your vet in order to further investigate gastrointestinal symptoms and conditions. This can include if your vet has concerns about esophageal or gastric foreign bodies, abscesses, ulcers and internal trauma.  It is used primarily to evaluate the esophagus, stomach and small intestines – referred to as an upper endoscopy. A colonoscopy evaluates an animal’s rectum.

Endoscopy is also a very useful examination tool to check the respiratory system in case of chronic symptoms of coughing, nasal discharge. Also it is very helpful in diagnosing ear canal problems, helps in deep cleaning and gives a better visualization than normal otoscopy.

We also perform endoscopy in case of sudden sneezing or nose bleeding and it allows us to remove foreign bodies like awn or grass or diagnose mucosal changes, tumors.

It provides little risk to the patient and is a less invasive and costly treatment when compared to surgical options. The endoscopy procedure is performed under general anesthesia and consists of inserting a small camera into the animal’s mouth, nose or rectum. In order to rule out other diseases or conditions, your pet will undergo some routine tests prior to an endoscopy procedure taking place. These tests can include a full blood test, a urine sample, a fecal examination, radiographs, and an ultrasound.
